Zaragoza prepares the most important days of the year, the feast of Our Lady of Pilar.
Hotel Villa Goma is prepared, as every year, to receive tourists from all over the world to celebrate these special days along with the people of Zaragoza. This year 2019 with special Illusion, since last September 27 the “Fiestas del Pilar”, have been declared “Fiesta of International Tourist Interest” for its exceptional value.
The starting of the feast will be on October 5th, with the proclamation by the group B Vocal. The city dresses up with numerous outdoor and indoor activities until Sunday 13th with the end of the feast characterized by the traditional Fireworks.
Next Saturday, October 12 will be the big day with the most special moment of the holiday “The Floral Offering”. A tradition that goes back to the year 1958 and since then has not stopped with more people each year on a procession to the Plaza del Pilar to offer flowers which design the mantle creating an idilic print.
This year, with the country El Salvador as a guest, more than 300,000 people are expected in the offering throughout the day. As anecdote, we will say that all the flowers offerings are recycled as composting and the baskets and ties are reused.
During 9 days there will be different activities for all tastes and all ages, as the private initiative of “Espacio Zity” in Valdespartera district, the different venues in public squares of the city center or the Aragón tent located in the Macanaz park.
These days the tram service in the city center is interrupted. From the tram stop “La Romareda” just a few minutes from the Hotel, you can reach any point of interest without taking the car. The district of La Romareda also dresses up for the fest, with its Fireworks in “Plaza San Francisco” or the water and light show in “Parque Grande”. Without forgetting the most important, the rest assured that a residential neighborhood can give you these days.
